Leon Sorkin, the principal of the firm, has received his Bachelor and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Construction (Russia) in 1977 majoring in structural engineering and minor in architecture.
He started his professional career in the United States in 1989 and joined the engineering consulting firm of Manuel Elken, P.C. in 1991. Having majority of its projects in New York City, Mr. Sorkin became familiar with the city building department rules and regulations, construction inspection procedures and building code . The projects ranged from NYC Parks Department to Department of Transportation and Department of Design and Construction of the City of New York.
Prior to opening his firm in January of 2009, Mr. Sorkin had a successful career with New York City Real Estate development company where he gained experience in management and construction of company's buildings. The projects ranged from apartment renovations, complete gut rehab, facade work, restoration after fire and flood, building reconstruction to ground up construction projects.
Mr. Sorkin possesses Civil Engineering and Architectural experience including government procedure knowledge.
His employment experience has provided him with the versatility and flexibility to operate effectively within large, complex residential and commercial construction environments, ensuring high quality project standards.
